BWINDI GORILLA TOURS : UGANDA GORILLA SAFARI ADVENTURE IN THE IMPENETRABLE 5

Day 1:Meet and greet at respective accommodations after your breakfast. Depart for Bwindi National park driving southwest and across the Equator. The drive takes you through Savannah grasslands seeing local homesteads and banana plantations as well as herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns.

Dinner and overnight at accommodation of your choice.

Day 2:We follow the Rushura Hill trail, which starts at the Bwindi view canteen near the park office and ascends steeply through cultivated fields and regenerating forest to a viewpoint on the Congo border. Rushura hill is at 1,915 meters (6288 ft) and it is the highest peak around Buhoma.From the top you get sweeping views over the western rift valley south to the Virunga Volcanoes. On very clear days Lake Edward and the Rwenzori mountains are visible to the North. We carry plenty of drinking water along and try to avoid the mid day heat as the climb can be quite strenuous.

Hiking time: 3hrs

The evening will allow you to participate in captivating traditional performances presented by women and orphan groups. Proceeds from these go directly to improve the welfare of the families around the park.

Day 3:Depart for Kampala via L.Bunyonyi.

BWINDI GORILLA SAFARI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK: ADVENTURE IN THE IMPENETRABLE 6:

Day 1:Depart fro Bwindi Meet and greet at respective accommodations after your breakfast. Depart for Bwindi national parkdriving southwest and across the Equator. The drive takes you through Savannah grasslands seeing local homesteads and banana plantations as well as herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns.

Dinner and overnight at accommodation of your choice.

Day 2:We venture into the forest via the Bamboo trail. The trail is located in the highest part of the park, rising to 2607 m (8560 ft) at Rwamunyonyi hill (which means “place of birds”) in the local language. It starts at the Kabale-Ruhija road in the park and winds through scenic views of the Bamboo Zone. It offers 14 vegetation types and is one of the areas of highest diversity in the park. The trail heads east to the edge of the forest at Rwamunyonyi where there is a panoramic view of Mafuga Forest reserve, L.Bunyonyi and the area around Ikumba.The walk from the road to Rwamunyonyi hill is fairly strenuous and takes about 2 to 3 hrs.
The route can be retraced forming a circuit of about 12km.It is also pleasant to simply walk along the road to view birds and appreciate the forest.
